On December 15, 2008 it was a bitter cold day. We scheduled two closing that day with my clients, a young family, who were selling their home in Castle Pines and purchasing their new home in South Aurora, about 15 miles away.
We timed these transactions so they could celebrate Christmas in their new home. And all was looking good. We closed the sale of their home in Castle Pines in the morning without a hitch and went directly to their closing of their new home that they had put under contract one week ago! To top it off a third party large relocation company, who was not known for speedy service, was handling the sale of their new home. It would be no less than monumental to close this transaction that soon. Their lender was confident we could close quickly so we set out to do just that.

Today I would like to take a moment to thank the military veterans who have fought and served for our country. My life is full of brave men and women who have given so much to protect us and I am deeply thankful. During WWII my father protected our coasts as an officer in the Coast Guard while my father-in-law fought in the Battle of Bulge with the 101st Airborne. I am blessed to have had these men in my life to guide me and teach me.
Thank you again for your service, we honor you on this day, and all days. Happy Veterans Day!
Special thanks to my family members who served: Jack Quinn - Coast Guard and Navy, WWII Edward Eames - Merchant Marines, WWII Leonard Eames - Army Harold Eames - Army James Lane - Army, WWII Patricia Lane - Medical Technician, WWII George Lane - Army, Vietnam Jerry Lane - Airforce Mike Lane - Airforce Pete Lane - Airforce Andy Lane - Marines, Iraq Larry Howes - Army, Panama |
